About Hej
We're here to make hiring human again
Hej exists because recruiting stopped working the way real teams actually hire. For almost every company—whether you're scaling fast or hiring a few roles a year—the pipeline looks the same: fragmented tools, duplicated data, anonymous PDFs in inboxes, and feedback scattered across chats and spreadsheets. Candidates burn out on repetitive forms; hiring managers burn out on guesswork.
We built Hej so both sides could show up as people. Lightweight applications, structured context from CVs, and short video intros that answer your questions—not another generic cover letter—mean you spend less time triaging paperwork and more time in conversations that matter. Every company deserves a hiring flow that respects applicants and gives teams clarity from day one: who fits, why, and what to explore next together.
The problem we tackle for every company
- Hiring is fragmented—roles, replies, and decisions live in too many places—so strong candidates slip through while everyone re-types the same story.
- The default experience trains people to optimize for keywords instead of fit, leaving teams with piles of identical CVs and little notion of motivation, judgement, or how someone communicates.
- That isn't a big-company-only problem. It hurts startups, scale-ups and established employers alike—the cost is slower growth, burnout on the recruiting team and a poorer first impression for every applicant.
Who builds Hej
Hej comes from OliveHR—a team that brings more than 15 years of aggregated experience across human resources, recruitment, technology and product. We've sat on both sides of the hiring table and shipped software that needs to survive real-world complexity. That blend of domain depth and craft is what shaped Hej: a tool that honours how people actually behave, instead of forcing another rigid workflow.
If hiring should feel less like paperwork and more like the start of a conversation, we're building for you.
